Data Exports

An important aspect of Federation Registry is the export of data it contains to subsequent systems for distribution to Identity Providers, Service Providers, Discovery Services and Service Catalogues to name a few.

Metadata
QUERY TYPE: HTTP GET
RESPONSE: text/xml

Federation Registry exports plain, unsigned metadata for passing to your metadata signing tool at the following locations:
  1. https://fr.server.edu.au/federationregistry/metadata/currentminimalnoext - Provides minimal metadata that is known to work with IdPs that use the MAMS Autograph and / or ShARPE tools.
  2. https://fr.server.edu.au/federationregistry/metadata/currentminimal - Provides minimal details required to operate the federation – suitable for all IdPs and SPs (Shib 1.3.x and 2.x).
  3. https://fr.server.edu.au/federationregistry/metadata/current - Provides a more complete metadata for the federation including some newer components. This is only suitable for Shibboleth 2.x. It will not work with earlier Shibboleth 1.3.x version.
  4. https://fr.server.edu.au/federationregistry/metadata/all - This metadata represents all components of the federation including those that are inactive or not yet approved. For informational purposes only.

SWITCH WAYF
QUERY TYPE: HTTP GET
RESPONSE: text/plain
LOCATION: https://fr.server.edu.au/federationregistry/wayf/generateconfiguration

Federation Registry exports a PHP format file suitable for pushing to a SWITCH developed discovery service. Identity Providers are broken up by the primary category assigned to the owning organization.

Service Catalogue
QUERY TYPE: HTTP GET
RESPONSE: text/x-json
LOCATION: https://fr.server.edu.au/federationregistry/servicecategories/json/<ID>   (Where <ID> is the numerical ID assigned with Federation Registry of the category you wish to publish.)

As part of service registration the Federation Registry captures a number of pieces of data about services which are useful for public presentation in an overall federation service catalogue. Generally this kind of information is available from your federations main public facing website.

Services may belong to multiple categories and will be returned for each category requested of which they are a member.
