Shibboleth integration with Sakai - ARCS

The Australian Access Federation (AAF) provides a mechanism that allows a participating institution and/or a service provider to trust the information it receives from another participating institution. This will enable seamless access to resources and secure communication to support collaboration between users. Users could login once for all sites/services in all organizations that are in the same federation. ARCS will Shibbolize Sakai so that members of AAF can use the Sakai service in the same way.

The desired outcomes for this project are:

• AAF users can login to ARCS Sakai using their own IdP
• Non-AAF users are allowed to access ARCS Sakai using Sakai guest account
• Account duplication should be minimised
• Both AAF and non-AAF users should be able to access resources using WebDAV
